Drum Granulator: The Savior of High-Capacity Farms?

2025/09/28
For large-scale farms abroad, covering tens of thousands of acres, fertilizer demand is often measured in tons, and conventional granulation equipment simply cannot keep up. This is where the drum granulator comes in. How does it enable such high-capacity production? And how does it work in conjunction with other equipment to achieve efficient mass production? The answer lies in its core strength.

The most prominent advantage of the   drum granulator is its "continuous production + high yield." The several-meter-long, inclined drum rotates at a constant speed. Raw materials enter through one end and, stirred by the scrapers inside, are mixed and agglomerated into granules, which are then continuously discharged from the other end.A single unit can produce tens of tons of fertilizer per day, fully meeting the fertilizer self-sufficiency needs of large farms. Even more remarkable is its adaptability to various raw materials. Whether it's organic fertilizer, inorganic compound fertilizer, or biological fertilizer, stable granulation can be achieved simply by adjusting the parameters, eliminating the need for frequent equipment changes and significantly reducing production time.

However, stable operation of a rotary drum granulator requires the assistance of supporting equipment. Before the raw materials enter the drum, a gravity-free mixer evenly mixes the various ingredients, preventing uneven nutrient distribution in the finished fertilizer. If the raw materials are low in moisture, a spray conditioning device precisely sprays water mist to create optimal conditions for granule formation. These two steps act like "opening up the Ren and Du meridians" for the drum granulator, ensuring a smoother granulation process.

After granulation is complete, subsequent equipment also performs its respective functions. The  fertilizer dryer uses hot air to quickly remove moisture from the granules, ensuring the fertilizer's moisture content meets the required standard. The cooling drum cools the hot granules to room temperature to prevent clumping during storage. Finally, the fertilizer screener machine selects granules of varying sizes to meet the fertilization needs of different crops on the farm. This complete production line, comprising "front-end conditioning + core granulation + back-end processing," precisely meets the core requirements of large-scale farms abroad for "efficiency, stability, and mass production."
