Instructions for Using the Disc Granulator in an Organic Fertilizer Production Line

2025/09/26

As the core equipment in an organic fertilizer production line, the disc granulator's operational stability directly determines the yield and quality of the organic fertilizer pellets. Operators must strictly follow the following standard procedures.

A comprehensive inspection and preparation are required before starting the machine. First, check the connections to ensure that the disc base bolts, drive pulley, and bearing seat are not loose. Any loose bolts should be tightened promptly with a wrench. Next, check the lubrication system. Open the bearing seat oil filler port and fill the machine with lubricant to the oil level to prevent dry friction and wear on components. Also, clean any remaining debris and agglomerated material from the disc. Check the raw material conveyor belt and water spray system for proper function, ensuring a moisture content of 30%-40% and a stable water supply. Only start the machine after all inspections are complete.
Startup operations must strictly follow the "gradual" principle. First, start the disc pelletizer's main motor. Allow the disc to run at a steady speed of 15-20 rpm for 1-2 minutes, ensuring there are no unusual noises or jams. Then, start the raw material conveyor and feed the organic fertilizer raw material into the disc at a constant speed. The raw material feed rate should be gradually increased, initially maintaining 50% of the rated capacity. Closely monitor pellet formation. If the pellets are loose and prone to falling apart, increase the water flow through the water spray system appropriately, adjusting by no more than 5% at a time. If the pellets clump, reduce the raw material feed rate and the frequency of water spraying until the pellet diameter stabilizes at 2-5 mm and the pellet formation rate reaches over 90%. Then, increase production capacity to the rated value.
Real-time monitoring and abnormality handling are required during operation. Operators should check the equipment status every 30 minutes, focusing on the bearing seat temperature (no more than 60°C) and the smooth operation of the disc. If there is severe vibration, stop the machine and check the base level or transmission components. If metal impurities are found in the raw material, stop the conveyor immediately and clean the impurities before restarting to avoid equipment damage. Following the above specifications can significantly improve the operating stability and service life of the disc granulator, ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the organic fertilizer production line.
